EEW, WORMS!
"This is a word of thanks for the program you brought to the library during school vacation week. How fortunate we were to have such a nice spring day to spend outside. The following week, during a creative time, many of the children added worms to their landscape. You definitely left an impression."

"Your program, 'Eew, Worms!' was the first of such a type for us. The children enjoyed each step of the way. It was educational and fun. See you again."

Mickie Riendeau, Children's Librarian, M. G. Parker Memorial Library, Lincoln, MA

"Thank you for an interesting Eew, Worms! program in July. The children were very interested in the topic and many came! They seemed to enjoy every aspect of the program. Thanks again for a fun, hands-on program!"

Becky Manos, Children's Librarian, Charlestown Branch Library, Boston, MA

"Thank you so much for bringing Eew, Worms! out to Robbins Library for our April vacation week. We had wonderful feedback from both parents and kids all week. People loved the information you provided about worms and kids were especially delighted that they had the real thing to bring home and care for. It was a great tie-in to Earth Day, and we hope it will spur children on to more research about nature and the environment. As always, your own enthusiasm for your subject and your infinite patience and good humor with the children goes a long way toward making this program enormously successful. We'll keep you in mind for future programs."

Judi Paradis, Program Coordinator, Children's Services Department, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA

"Thank you very much for your enthusiastic assistance with the worm bin display at the Department of Environmental Protection's 3d Annual Composting Celebration & Symposium. The event would not have been nearly as successful without your help and encouraging attitude."

Ann McGovern, Composting Program Education Coordinator, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection

SNAKE ADVENTURE

"Thank you again for coming to Kids In Common, Inc., on Early Release Week. All students had a great time at your SNAKE shows. Keep in touch; we hope to see you again on another Early Release Day! Thank you!"

Katie Drzewiecki, Director, Kids In Common

"Thank you for coming to Robbins Library last week to present Snake Adventure. The response to the program was wildly enthusiastic--the kids loved the snakes, and all the activities you provided added to their knowledge and kept things moving along. I'm glad we were able to accommodate you, and Raphaela sure did keep us on our toes. We're looking forward to having you return with your worms in April."

Judi Paradis, Program Coordinator, Children's Services Department, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA

"I am writing to thank you for the wonderful presentation, "Snake Adventure," that you gave at the Roslindale Branch Library on Wednesday, April 23 at 11:00 am. The children really enjoyed the live snakes, snake games, and craft activities. You did very well in entertaining this very large crowd! I received many compliments from children and adults regarding your program. This topic seems to have an endless fascination for children (and adults) of all ages.

'Thank you again, and perhaps you can visit the Roslindale Branch in the future for another program.'"

Paula Wiktorowicz, Children's Librarian, Roslindale Branch Library, Boston, MA

"Thank you again for a great nature program. The snake adventure you held at the Fox Library last week was a success. Everyone enjoyed meeting the snakes, and as always, you were knowledgeable and presented a nice variety of activities for the kids participating. I believe the snakes of Arlington now have 20 new friends thanks to your efforts. Keep us posted on your doings--I'm sure we'll be having you back soon.

Sincerely yours,

Judi Paradis, Program Coordinator, Children's Services Department, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA

"I am writing to let you know how much we enjoyed our SNAKE ADVENTURE PROGRAM. The children, parents, and staff loved the turtle and snake that you brought with you. The snakes that were made were very creative and showed great imagination.

"We hope you have a great summer!'"

Diane Kulyk, Children's Librarian, the Lynn Public Library

CREATURE FEATURES

"'Thank you for your participation in the Cranberry World Wildlife Festival. Your exhibit was a wonderful addition to the festival and I really enjoyed the crayfish. Your generous donations of time and effort were truly appreciated by the festival-goers, all of whom had positive things to say about the event.

'Thanks for making it a success again this year. I look forward to your return.'"

Chris Murphy, Agnew Carter, McCarthy, Inc.

CREEPY CRAWLIES

"'I am writing to thank you for the wonderful program, "Creepy Crawlies," that you gave at the Roslindale Branch Library. The program was very well received, and I am sure that the audience learned a great deal about "bugs, slugs, and creatures without backbones." The youngsters also enjoyed seeing the actual animals. Thank you for being so patient with the larger-than-expected audience.

'Again, thank you for a very interesting and educational presentation.'"

Sincerely,

Paula Wiktorowicz, Children's Librarian, Roslindale Branch Library

"'Thank you for a wonderful Creepy Crawlies program at our library on Tuesday, February 17th. The children and their parents seemed to enjoy it very much. We thought the variety of insects you brought with you were fantastic. We hope to see you again soon!

'Thank you!'"

Diane L. Kulyk, Children's Librarian, Lynn Public Library

Many, many thanks for bringing your invertebrates to show to children in our religious education program! I appreciate your willingness to work with our "habitat groups" as they tried to understand themselves as part of the interconnected web of life. Your wonderful way with the children as you presented the insects gave them a chance not only to learn something about tarantulas, scorpions, beetles, and so on, but also the opportunity to really see themselves as fellow travelers on this earth with the creatures you brought to show them. I was especially grateful for you ability to work with large numbers of children of various ages, with varying levels of comfort with the insects. It was a joy to watch! I have filed the information you gave me on Nature & Nurture and look forward to being able to recommend its programs to parents and grandparents of the North Parish. Sincerely, Gail Forsyth-Vail Director of Religious Education The North Parish of North Andover

"Thanks for the show - as always, it was fun!"

Barbara Rhodes, Jamaica Plain Branch Library

DEM BONES

"Thank you so much for visiting our library last Saturday. Amy Martin, the Children’s Librarian, who was working that day told me that the children had a very good time and that your Skull Program sparked a lot of interest. We appreciate your visits to the library and we hope to see you again!"

Diane L. Kulyk, Head of Children's Department, Lynn Public Library

NEW GAMES

"Thank you for providing a great kick off to our summer reading program with your New Games. As I had hoped, it drew a nice, enthusiastic crowd, and was just the thing for kids who were just out of school. The librarians reported that the program was very well received, and we hope you will keep us posted with more Nature & Nurture offerings."

Judi Paradis, Program Coordinator, Children's Services Department, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA

TURTLE ADVENTURE

"Thanks again for the wonderful 'Turtle Adventure' program that you presented at the North End Branch Library's Children's Summer Reading Program. Your 'Creepy Crawlies' program sounds very interesting. I'm sure you will be hearing from me next year."

Janet Buda, Branch Librarian, North End Branch Library, Boston'"

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

"'We're still basking in the honey glow of Ned's 7th birthday party! It could not have been more perfect and it could not have been at all w/out you!!

'Thanx again,

The Gold Family'"

IN GENERAL

"'To whom it may concern:

'Matt Schoeffler of Nature & Nurture has conducted a number of nature events at Borders Book Shop in Framingham. The events have been successful and well received, especially the snake events. He emphasizes the learning aspects of the programs and has the children treat the animals involved with great respect.

'He did a recycling sculpture event for Earth Day that resulted in very imaginative creations on the part of the children.

'He has always been dependable, showing up in plenty of time to set up for the events and requiring little support and help from the store staff.'"
